A mansion in Miami Beach on the market for $12.6 million

French billionaire Philippe Ginestet, founder of home goods retail chain GiFi, has put his mansion in Miami Beach on the market for $12.6 million. Situated in a corner lot in the gated community of Normandy Golf Course Island, the newly constructed residence has 8,083 square feet of living space, including seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, according to the listing with Florian Jouin of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. “Mr. Ginestet developed the property as a spec home, touted as his real estate portfolio’s crown jewel, which also includes projects in France, Switzerland and Germany,” said Mr. Jouin, who posted the listing last week.
The Florida home, completed in 2018, also features a double-height living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a floating glass staircase, ornate tailor-made kitchens and closets, as well as wooden and marble floors. Impressive water views come from the home’s over-300-feet of bay frontage. Additionally, the 19,950-square-foot lot has an outdoor cabana with kitchen, infinity pool and parking space and space for a boat dock, per the listing. Mr. Ginestet, 63, who has an estimated net worth of $2.1 billion, according to Forbes, bought the site for $1.665 million via a limited liability company in 2011, public records show. GiFi didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
