Mobile phone with 10 GB Ram...

A new leak out of China suggests Vivo’s next flagship Android smartphone could well be one of the most impressive smartphones to be released this year, at least going by the rumored specifications. Along with the specs, an alleged render of the smartphone has also been leaked online.

The leaked presentation slides claim the smartphone will be launched as the Xplay 7, making it the direct successor to Vivo Xplay6 from 2016. Like most flagship smartphones expected to come out this year, the Xplay7 will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset. The powerful chipset will be paired with a whopping 10GB of RAM, which could make the Xplay7 among the first smartphones to pack more than 8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Xplay7 is rumored to come in 256GB and 512GB versions.

As you can see in the render above, the smartphone will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor, similar to the Vivo X20 Plus UD. Complementing the under-display fingerprint sensor will be Vivo’s face recognition 2.0 technology. The leaked slides claim the smartphone will have a screen-to-body ratio of 92.9%, higher than most smartphones out there. While the exact resolution and aspect ratio of the display hasn’t been revealed, the slide does mention a 4K OLED panel. Sony, which has released two smartphones with a 4K display so far, is also rumored to be working on a flagship Xperia XZ Pro smartphone with a 4K OLED display. In the camera department, Vivo’s rumored flagship will apparently feature two Sony Exmor RS sensors and an impressive 4x optical zoom capability.

While the rumored specs do sound plausible, some of the info seems too good to be true. Which is why we suggest taking all of the above info with a few grains of salt. In case the info is actually accurate, we might see some more Xplay7 leaks surface online in the coming weeks.
