Jio launches new JioFi 4G data card with 150mbps download speed priced at Rs 999


Reliance Jio has launched a new variant of its 4G LTE hotspot device, named the JioFi JMR815 Wireless Data Card. The device is available for purchase on Flipkart and is priced at Rs 999. Flipkart is also providing a no extra cost EMI to customers who purchase the device using HDFC Bank debit or credit cards. Customers can also avail a 5 percent off on purchasing the device using Axis Bank Buzz credit card. The new device supports download speeds of upto 150 Mbps and upload speeds of upto 50 Mbps. Users can make unlimited audio calls using the data card. However, to make audio calls one needs to install the Jio 4G Voice App on their phone. The device supports call conferencing and can connect to up to 5 individuals simultaneously during an audio call. The device can also connect 3 individuals simultaneously on a video call and works seamlessly across all 2G/3G/4G Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Talking about the form factor, the data card is round in shape and comes in black colour. The device is 74mm wide, 20mm thick and weighs 95 grams. The front portion has no buttons or indicators like its predecessors did and only bears the company’s name. The charging port is located at the bottom edge and the device has the power on/off button and WPS button located at the top edge. The data card can provide upto 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices at the same time and allows a total number of 32 users with 31 Wi-Fi enabled devices and 1 on USB which could be your laptop or desktop. The device runs on ALT3800 Processor and supports FDD - Band 3, Band 5, TDD - Band 40. The device comes equipped with 3000 mAh battery. According to the company, the device can last more than 8 hours of continuous usage which is a big advantage over its predecessor which had 2300 mAh battery and could last around 5-6 hours of usage. The charging time is pegged at 3.5 hours.
The device comes with one year warranty on the main device and 6 months warranty on the accessories. At the time of publishing, the device was only available on Flipkart and was still unlisted on Jio’s official website.
